🎣 Johnny Creek Baits Weekly Fishing Report: November 15, 2025-November 21, 2025
News

The winter bite is shifting, and the big pigs are starting to show themselves across the Motherlode. From New Melones to Don Pedro to McClure, heavy fish are hitting the deck and social media is already filling up with some impressive giants.
Water temps across the region are sliding—lakes holding in the low 60s, and the Delta dipping to 58°—and the fish are reacting. One of the best parts about living and fishing in the California Central Valley is that our season never really ends. While other states are winterizing boats, we’re tying on swimbaits… and this year the number of swimbait rods on decks is at an all-time high.
McClure has been the surprise lately, giving up spotted bass up to 7 lbs on glides and big swimbaits. Pedro is producing quality fish on jigs, with several anglers putting together solid bags this week. Melones, while lightly pressured, continues to deliver steady action with good bites showing up across the entire lake.
And don’t sleep on the Delta—the striper bite has lit up in the last week. Big fish are pushing in all over, with consistent reports of heavy linesides showing from Discovery Bay down into Ladds.
Winter patterns are setting in, the big girls are waking up, and the momentum is only building from here.
Stay safe, stay grinding, and keep those swimbait rods warm.
